Child Safety Standards
Effective date: 13 June 2026
Last updated: 13 June 2026
Waypoint is provided by Waypoint Connect Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16829882), registered office 51 Cedar Close, Leeds, England, LS12 1SL (“Waypoint”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
This page sets out the standards Waypoint applies to keep children safe and to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), across the Waypoint app, website, and related services (the “Service”). It reflects our alignment with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and CSAE guidelines.
1. Our commitment
Zero tolerance
Waypoint has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Waypoint is an 18+ service: it is intended solely for adults, and people under 18 are not permitted to create an account or use the app.
2. How we prevent access by minors
- Age gate at sign-up. During onboarding every user must enter their date of birth and confirm it. Anyone who declares an age under 18 is blocked from completing onboarding and cannot use the Service.
- Terms of Service. Our Terms of Service require users to be 18 or older. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed.
- No child-directed features or content. Waypoint is not designed for, and does not appeal to, children. Our store listing, content rating, and target-audience declaration all specify an adult (18+) audience.
3. How we prevent and respond to CSAE and CSAM
- User reporting. Every profile, message thread, and user-generated post can be reported from within the app. Reports about child safety are treated as the highest priority.
- Blocking. Users can block any other user, immediately cutting off contact.
- Moderation and removal. We review reported content and accounts and remove any content or user that violates our policies. Accounts involved in CSAE are permanently banned.
- Reporting to authorities. We report apparent CSAM to the relevant authorities (including, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and UK law enforcement) as required by law, and we cooperate with law-enforcement requests.
- Legal compliance. We comply with applicable child-safety laws in the regions where Waypoint is available, and we align our standards with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and CSAE guidelines.
4. Reporting a child-safety concern
If you believe a Waypoint account or piece of content involves a minor or child sexual abuse or exploitation, report it immediately:
- In the app: use the “Report” action on the profile, message, or post.
- By email: safety@usewaypoint.app — monitored for child-safety and CSAE reports.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
5. Safety point of contact
