Account Deletion & Data Management
We respect your right to control your data. Here's everything you need to know about deleting your account.
What data we store
When you use Waypoint, we collect and store the following information:
Profile Information
Name, email, bio, birth date, gender, nationality
Location Data
Current city, cities visited or planned
Photos
Profile picture and event photos
Preferences
Languages, interests, meeting preferences
Connections
Friend connections and blocked users
Messages
Direct messages with other users
Events & Plans
Activities created or joined
Activity Data
Attendance records, last active
How to delete your account
In-App Deletion
- βOpen the Waypoint app
- βGo to your Profile tab
- βTap Settings (gear icon)
- βScroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- βConfirm deletion
Email Request
If you can't access the app, send a deletion request to:

We'll process within 48 hours β±οΈ
What happens when you delete
Deletion timeline
Immediate
Your profile becomes invisible to other users
Within 24 hours
All data permanently deleted from active servers
Within 30 days
Removed from all backup systems
Request your data first
Want a copy before deleting? Email us at support@usewaypoint.app with subject "Data Export Request"
π§ We'll send your complete data within 7 business days
Not ready to delete?
You can temporarily deactivate your account in Settings. This hides your profile but keeps your data intact if you decide to return.
